My last first class

Day (2)

Yesterday went well, though I have to admit I ate a bag of store-bought jerky (not allowed because it’s made with sugar and salt). Cheated already. But only because I had zero food in the fridge and was starting this damn blog before I could go grocery shopping. Made a nice meal for dinner though: skinless turkey breast grilled (on a Foreman Grill) with lemon pepper and red cayenne powder, tomato and avocado slices, steamed broccoli and carrots and a bowl of blueberries, almonds and raisins. Steph helped cook (and eat) and is joining me. Should work out better that way.

Today is a real test…first day of classes. We’ll see if I can really stick to this diet once school gets underway (hopefully, yes).

Up on today’s menu:

  • Cantaloupe and strawberries for breakfast, maybe some tea
  • Broiled (maybe grilled, idk how to broil) lean pork chops with steamed cauliflower and an apple for lunch, maybe I’ll throw in a salad (if I have time to make a homemade dressing)
  • Maybe broiled halibut steak with lemon juice and dill with steamed asparagus
  • Hard-boiled eggs (omega 3 enriched), walnuts and raisins as a snack

Let’s get it done.

Update: couldn’t find halibut, so salmon instead.

Update: trying out a video log as well.

  1. Broiling is easy and cleaner than grilling (although the Foreman grill is pretty easy). Broiling is grilling, upside down. Just don’t put the meat too close to the upper element in the oven and keep a close eye on it to avoid burning. It cooks faster than you think.
